We're a small, family owned and run Real Bread bakery in Glossop in the Peak District. We pride ourselves on baking high quality, tasty bread and morning goods for our shop and for local businesses. As members of The Real Bread Campaign nothing artificial goes into any of our loaves.We are more than happy to chat about what you'd like to see baked at Grains and welcome your feedback on our products.

What is sourdough?
Sourdough bread is made by the fermentation of dough using naturally occurring lactobacilli and yeast. Sourdough bread has a mildly sour taste not present in most breads made with baker's yeast, and keeps better than other breads, due to the lactic acid produced by the lactobacilli.
